Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Abilene, TX, seeks a Training and Development Specialist II to design, implement, and evaluate competency-based training for facility staff at Abilene State Supported Living Center.

The role requires delivering New Hire Orientation, refresher courses, and ongoing professional development while maintaining training records and collaborating with the Competency Training Department. CPR instructor certification and a strong background in adult education are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or higher in a related field.
• Experience training staff in institutional settings or adult learning environments.
• CPR instructor certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, conduct, and evaluate training programs for facility staff.
• Train new employees and provide refresher training.
• Maintain training records and attendance; generate reports on training status.
• Develop curriculum materials and multimedia presentations for courses.
• Act as Master Trainer to train other trainers and ensure safety and compliance.
