The Training Coordinator Intern will support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs for Transmission System Operators and Balancing Authority Operators. This role provides hands‑on experience in coordinating technical training, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting simulator‑based learning in a real‑time operations environment. The intern will assist with key aspects of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), including analysis, development, design, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) of training materials and programs. Responsibilities will include supporting training logistics, developing simulator scenarios, creating multimedia training content, and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to enhance operator readiness.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to electric utility operations, including how operators are trained to maintain the reliability of the Bulk Electric System in accordance with regulatory standards. Interns will have the opportunity to observe the control center environment, support training activities, and gain exposure to the tools and systems used to maintain grid reliability.
This position is for a May 31, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.
Current student, Freshman or higher Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business, Training & Development, Human Resource Development, or simila Able to work full‑time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in‑person, per our hybrid work policy.

Non-Bargaining The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
