Job Summary

The Training Specialist will deliver classroom and field instruction for the DOL-approved MasTec Transmission Apprentice Program, including New Hire Orientations, OSHA courses, First Aid/CPR, and equipment training. The role involves utilizing curriculum tools like T&D PowerSkills and UKG, with travel to job sites as needed.

Location

Remote, residing in one of these states: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, or New Mexico.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver classroom and field training for the MasTec Apprentice Program.
2. Maintain training records and monitor apprentice progress.
3. Plan lessons aligned with the Apprentice Program.
4. Keep accurate attendance and training documentation.
5. Coordinate with management to update training content.
6. Promote safety culture and ensure safety compliance among apprentices.
7. Travel up to 50% to various locations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• At least 5 years in Transmission Construction and 3 years in Training
• Ability to travel to multiple locations
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, Excel
• Strong communication skills
• Strategic and independent thinking with leadership abilities

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Utility Industry or related
• Bilingual in English/Spanish
• OSHA 500, 510 certified
• OSHA-10 ETD, OSHA-20 HR certified
• First Aid, CPR, AED certified
• Experience in OSHA Safety & Health

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, requiring physical activities like bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing, and standing for extended periods. Visual and hand-eye coordination skills are necessary.
