Job Description And Duties

CalRecycle is looking for Training Analyst to join our training and development unit. This position will leverage your analytical, critical thinking, training, and communication skills. Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the incumbent is responsible for the more technical varied and complex analytical and evaluative work of greater difficulty relating to and necessary for the coordination and administration of the department's training program. The analyst will perform a wide variety of analytical duties of difficulty related to the coordination, development, administration, and maintenance of the CalRecycle training program and Cornerstone Learning Management System. The Analyst II will be expected to independently serve as the primary system administrator of the CalReycle Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS), process training requests and records; create training reports; create and maintain training vendor contracts and training budgets; create, deliver, and facilitate eLearning, online, and in-person training courses; and exhibit professional business writing skills, professional presentation and teaching skills; and work cooperatively with peers, managers, and professional staff to meet the needs of the Training Unit and the department.

Beginning July 1, 2026, CalRecycle staff will be office centered, requiring employees to report to the office at least four days per week. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the positions designated headquarter location, as reflected on the duty statement and at their own expense. Occasional travel may be required, up to 5% per month. The incumbent is expected to be available between the core hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
