Job summary

Lincoln Premium Poultry is seeking a Trainer to support new employee onboarding, classroom and hands-on training, and ongoing development to ensure safety, quality, and operational performance on the floor.

The role collaborates with departmental leadership to document training, assess competency, and coordinate with HR and operations; bilingual English/Spanish is required and flexibility to rotate as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience utilizing effective training techniques.
• Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Excellent time management and prioritizing abilities.
• Ability to present and speak in front of large groups.
• Proficient with computer tools including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting with the transition of new employees to the floor, and delivering effective classroom, hands on and on the job training that will support employee competency, safety, quality and operational performance. This position will work closely with departmental leadership to ensure employees are properly trained, assessed, documented and supported throughout onboarding, job qualification, transfers, cross training and ongoing development.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Conduct classroom, hands-on, and on the job training for new hires, transfers, and employees requiring retraining.
• 2. Observe employees performing assigned job tasks and evaluate their ability to perform work safely, efficiently and independently.
• 3. Provide coaching and follow up to reinforce learning, employee confidence and sustained job competency.
• Execute approved Job SOP’s through training, coaching, observation and employee assessments partnering with departmental leadership when SOP’s require clarification, revision or development.
• Complete mandatory audit checks that align with our company safety policies to ensure that our employees are working in a safe environment.
• Assist the Training and Development environment enrichment programs that improve the buy-in of employees in their roles.
• Serve as a liaison between Training ad Development, Human Resources and operational departments communicating employee needs, onboarding concerns, barriers, progress and other information.
• Serve as a training resource for employees, supervisors and leadership by answering questions, providing guidance and support consistent application of training expectations.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports employee engagement, retention, safety, productivity, and quality.
• Conduct employee touchpoints to identify training barriers, knowledge gaps, questions or additional coaching and development needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

• 1. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• 2. Must possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience utilizing effective training techniques in a related position.
• 3. Must possess skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and written.
• 4. Must have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills.
• 5. Must know how to effectively utilize a computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• 6. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• 7. Must have skills in presenting and speaking in front of large groups.
• 8. Must be willing to be flexible and rotate between various positions and sometimes shifts in the operation based on business
• 9. Must be able to represent LPP in a manner consistent with our company values.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• 1. Professional knowledge and experience of manufacturing and production facilities, preferably with an emphasis on food production.
• 2. Knowledge of USDA, FDA, or OSHA guidelines and standards.
• 3. Experience coaching, mentoring, training or developing others in a professional setting.
• 4. Experience in training curriculum content creation
