Job summary

Harbor Wholesale is seeking a Jr. Chain Buyer in Lacey, WA to support procurement for assigned Chain customers. The role combines administration, replenishment buying support, vendor communication, reporting, and program assistance under supervision.

During extended training it is an onsite position; after training, a hybrid work arrangement is expected with office space in Lacey, WA. Compensation ranges from $27 to $32 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience in purchasing, administrative support, customer service, inventory management, foodservice, grocery, CPG, or distribution is preferred.
• Prior exposure to purchase orders, vendor communication, reporting, ERP systems, or customer account support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement needs for assigned Chain customers, including item maintenance, program updates, documentation, and follow‑up communication with Chain Restaurant Buyer as needed.
• Maintain chain customer notes, contacts, ordering requirements, vendor instructions, and program criteria for visibility and consistency.
• Develop relationships with vendors, brokers, and suppliers; communicate item setup, availability, order confirmations, shortages, lead times, and issue resolution.
• Generate and review purchase orders for multiple warehouses and assist replenishment decisions based on inventory needs and demand signals.
• Support onboarding for new Chain customers with vendor setup, reporting needs, and cross‑functional coordination.
