Qualifications

• No education required.
• No experience required; six months preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand instructions and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as dock carts, scanners, and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors (yard switching).
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Sort packages by labels and numbers for correct routing.
• Load and unload packages onto/from vehicles, trailers, or carts.
• Operate relevant yard equipment and adhere to safety procedures.
