Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Trailer Technician Trainee to learn foundational repairs and maintenance, working under supervision to understand air brake systems and FHWA inspections. This is a full-time role that may require outdoor work and shifts including nights or weekends.

You will shadow senior technicians, follow safety rules, and progress through the Technician Career Advancement program while gaining hands-on experience with tools and shop procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs to company and manufacturer specifications.
• Complete work orders and follow SRT and warranty guidelines.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
• Train to become efficient in routine maintenance and basic air brake system repairs.
