Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in East Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a Trailer Technician Trainee to gain foundational knowledge of air brake systems, FHWA inspections, and related repairs.

You will shadow senior technicians, follow shop safety procedures, and learn to perform routine maintenance, part replacement, and troubleshooting while upholding company standards. This is a full-time role with potential overtime and shifts including nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn to perform repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications and train to be efficient in standard repair times and warranty guidelines.
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times.
• Train to become efficient in routine preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, basic repair pertaining to air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections.
