Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee.

Under close supervision, you will gain foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety, and company rules while learning air brake systems and FHWA inspections, with potential to work nights, weekends, and overtime. This full-time role trains you to perform repairs to specifications, follow safety procedures, and communicate professionally with JB Hunt personnel and customers.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• GED or High School diploma preferred
• Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and perform basic repairs

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs to company and manufacturer specifications
• Complete work orders and train to meet standard repair times and warranty guidelines
• Follow shop safety procedures at all times
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
