Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Sumner, WA, invites applicants for a part-time Trailer Technician Trainee.

Under close supervision, you will gain foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety, and FHWA inspections while supporting air brake system repairs and general maintenance. You will shadow senior technicians, learn to complete work orders to standard repair times, and grow into a capable team member with opportunities across shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and able to provide basic tools or purchase through toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Proficient communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications.
• Follow shop safety procedures and complete work orders.
• Train to be efficient in standard repair times and FHWA inspections.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
