Job summary

FleetPride in Ellenwood, GA is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician II to perform preventive maintenance, repairs and component replacements on Class 7 and 8 trailers with limited supervision.

Role includes diagnosing trailer systems, performing brake, suspension, welding and fabrication tasks, and working from a service truck and shop. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred. Training and PPE supplied.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trailers.
• Carpentry fabrication and welding.
• Must provide hand tools, air tools, and toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Examine trailers to determine extent of damage or malfunction(s).
• Diagnoses, repairs, builds and rebuilds all parts of trailer equipment.
• Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions, when appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity.
• Prevent comebacks.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of trailers and equipment.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
• Test components using proper equipment to ensure proper operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems including leaf and coil spring systems, and Hendrickson walking beam suspension systems.
• Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding.
• File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces with power/hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
• Practice safe driving.

Additionally, will perform basic diagnostic operations in order to successfully diagnose trailer system failures and suggest accurate system repairs. This technician will also work in the shop between service calls.
