Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician I Trailer in Springfield, OH to perform basic maintenances and minor repairs on trailers. This role requires attention to PM guidelines and the ability to inspect brakes, tires, wiring, and fluids, while maintaining productivity.

The position emphasizes a high school diploma, a possible technical diesel diploma, and 1 year of mechanical experience, with computer skills as a plus. On-site work with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from a Diesel Technology program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• A Technical Diploma may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on trailers as outlined in PM guidelines.
• Perform minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission oil, engine oil, windshield wiper fluid, antifreeze).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and meet SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
