Job summary

U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to perform basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs on trailers at our Springfield, OH shop. You will inspect brakes, tires, wiring, fluids and change tires while maintaining high productivity according to PM guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma (Diesel Tech preferred), a valid driver's license, and the ability to provide your own tools. DOT brake certs and OEM online certs are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma in Diesel Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year mechanical experience preferred.
• Transportation industry experience preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on trailers as outlined in PM guidelines.
• Perform basic/minor repairs on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
• Check fluids and maintenance items on vehicles.
• Change tires and grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain productivity and complete jobs within SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
