Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician, I Trailer to perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers at the Ellenwood USX Terminal.

The role sits at an on-site shop with standard shifts, and requires a valid driver’s license, DOT and brake certifications, plus a diesel tech background. Experience in the transportation industry and ability to read/write are preferred; you will work with a team and follow USX PM guidelines while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from a Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• DOT and Brake certifications required to perform PMs and brake work.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (e.g. transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain a high productivity level and complete most jobs within or close to SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
