Job summary

Central Transport, a leading LTL carrier, is hiring skilled mechanics to maintain and repair our fleet of trailers and related equipment across the United States and Canada. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and ensuring safety across all fleet components.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of experience, basic hand tools, and a willingness to participate in company-paid training modules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in trailer maintenance or related field.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.
• Basic hand tools and the ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on trailers and related equipment.
• Repair trailers and associated components in a timely and safe manner.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and other critical parts to ensure proper operation.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks and lubrication.
• Repair damage to containers, trailers and chassis and replace lighting as needed.
• Repair tear damage to container sides and perform tire and landing gear work.
• Frame and overall systems inspection and general repairs on fleet equipment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
• Repair trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Responsible for repairing damage to containers, trailers, and chassis.
• Repairing tears on the sides of containers
• Replacing lights
• Tire repair
• Landing gear repair
• Frame repair
