Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an on-site tire mechanic to support our growing LTL fleet. Responsibilities include breaking down and storing inbound tires, handling outbound tire distribution, and verifying tire pressure and tread on trailers in the yard.

You will also document daily activities in our system. Qualified candidates demonstrate mechanical aptitude, physical dexterity, a reliable vehicle, and a positive, learnable attitude.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and physical capability to lift 90lbs regularly.
• Reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a good attitude with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and store inbound tire shipments.
• Stack, band, proof, and deliver outbound used tires to the dock.
• Check tire pressure and tread on trailers in the yard; air up at 80-95 PSI.
• Record work on daily activities sheet and in transman.

As we continue to expand our network, we are seeking quality mechanics to help maintain our fleet of over 2.200 tractors, 8,500 trailers, and 1,700 forklifts across the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Breakdown and store inbound tire shipments
• Stack, band, pro, and deliver outbound used tires to the dock
• Check tire pressure and tread on trailers in the yard. Air up units with 80-95 PSI and replace tires (in pairs) that have less than 4/32” tread or pressure lower than 80 PSI
• Record work on daily activities sheet and in transman
