Job summary

Central Transport is seeking tire technicians to join our growing team and support our fleet across the United States and Canada with tire breakdown, handling, and stocking duties. We emphasize safety and reliability in all tire operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tires and fleets.
• Physical dexterity; ability to lift 90 lbs regularly.
• Reliable transportation to site.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver's license; must be 18+.
• Ability to perform duties at a tire/vehicle yard.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and store inbound tire shipments.
• Stack, band, load, and deliver outbound tires to the dock.
• Check tire pressure and tread on trailers in the yard; air up units to 80-95 PSI and replace tires with less than 4/32" tread or pressure lower than 80 PSI.
• Record work on daily activities and in transman.

Central Transport is an industry leading Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) transportation carrier. We are one of the nation’s largest LTL carriers and have experienced significant growth over the last several years. As we continue to expand our network, we are seeking quality mechanics to help maintain our fleet of over 2.200 tractors, 8,500 trailers, and 1,700 forklifts across the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Breakdown and store inbound tire shipments
• Stack, band, pro, and deliver outbound used tires to the dock
• Check tire pressure and tread on trailers in the yard. Air up units with 80-95 PSI and replace tires (in pairs) that have less than 4/32” tread or pressure lower than 80 PSI
• Record work on daily activities sheet and in transman
