Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a skilled trailer technician responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance on our trailer fleet. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment, and ensure compliance with FMCSA safety regulations.

You will interpret work orders and manuals, replace defective parts, and test performance to meet manufacturer specs. The role requires reading technical documents, using hand tools and test equipment, and the ability to lift heavy loads.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years old.
• Minimum 1 year experience or completion of trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria.
• Ability to keep up with changing technology and updates.
• Mechanical ability and interest in electronics/precision equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare FMCSA/compliance documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and components.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance.
• Maintain attendance and be able to perform other duties as needed.
