Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons is seeking reliable Class A CDL drivers for the Wyoming Valley Division in Nanticoke, PA. Drive tractor-trailers per DOT and company standards, safely transporting leachate to wastewater facilities and adhering to daily routes and special orders.

Responsibilities include pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintaining logs and tickets, coordinating with the Operations Manager, and ensuring vehicle cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Valid PA CDL Class A license.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Safety-sensitive employee subject to random substance abuse screening.
• Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
• Able to sit for long periods and operate truck controls.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer per DOT regulations and company standards on daily routes and special orders.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of tractor and tanker.
• Transport and offload leachate at wastewater treatment facilities.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager to complete loads and relay special instructions.
• Maintain load tickets, logs, route sheets, and related records.
• Clean the truck daily and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to supervisor.
• Report accidents or violations immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:

• Operate a tractor trailer in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service on established daily route sheets, special orders, and regular work orders
• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the tractor and tanker.
• Transports and offloads leachate at a regulated wastewater treatment plants
• Coordinates regularly with the Operations Manager to ensure all loads are completed as well as communicate any questionable materials and special instructions
• Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads and maintains any related records required, i.e. driver's log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, etc.
• Cleans truck daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations, inclusive but not limited to the cab
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post trip vehicle condition report
• Reports any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report and reports it immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager
• Immediately reports to the company and accident, traffic violation, or license suspension
• As well as other duties as assigned or described in the job description for this role

QualificationsYou Have:

• A valid PA Commercial Driver's License CDL Class A
• Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.
• As a safety sensitive employee, all drivers are subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT and company policy.
• Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
• Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
• Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods. Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
