Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a maintenance-focused professional to support the Katy Trail State Park from Machens to Matson. The role involves skilled trades across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds maintenance, with routine site cleaning and visitor assistance.

The position may require operating heavy equipment and ensuring safety with chainsaw use. A CDL may be required within six months, with a strong emphasis on detail and teamwork in a public park setting.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of on-the-job training in building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of skilled work in maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair or alteration of state buildings and facilities (Katy Trail State Park).
• Work in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering and mechanical repair in facilities and grounds.
• Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and grounds.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers and similar equipment.
• Basic computer skills for timekeeping, visitor assistance and reporting.
