Job summary

Missouri Department of Natural Resources seeks a park maintenance worker to support wastewater systems, water testing and grounds upkeep at Meramec State Park. The role includes approx.

weekend shifts during the season, training seasonal staff, and assisting in construction or repair tasks as needed. Requirements include a valid vehicle operator’s license, ability to perform strenuous outdoor work, and willingness to obtain water certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead worker with inspection, cleaning, monitoring, maintenance and operation of park wastewater systems.
• Support drinking water testing and sample collection for designated swim area.
• Assist with general maintenance of park facilities, grounds, HVAC, vehicles and equipment.
• Help with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression and other natural resource tasks.
• Supervise and train seasonal staff and volunteers; maintain daily activity logs.
• Provide visitor information on park rules and monitor safety and PPE use.
