City of San Antonio’s Parks & Recreation Department seeks a maintenance supervisor to lead a crew performing street, park, and facilities tasks, ensuring schedules are followed and safety procedures are observed.

The role involves equipment repairs, event preparations, inventory management, and daily supervision, with physical work and occasional evening/weekend shifts. HS diploma or GED and 2 years maintenance experience required; Texas driver’s license within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of labor or maintenance experience.
• Must possess a Texas Driver's License plus endorsements within six months.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with trail sanitation, vegetation and facilities maintenance.
• Experience operating small engine equipment (chainsaws, pole saws, string trimmers, blowers).
• Experience operating tractors, ZTR mowers, utility vehicles, and brush chippers.

Responsabilités

• Oversees a work crew involved in maintenance duties such as sweeping or cleaning of streets and custodial maintenance of public areas.
• Repairs or replaces equipment at City parks and facilities.
• Prepares City facilities for events.
• Participates in construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, City buildings and facilities, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Inspects work areas for quality and safety procedures.
• Inspects equipment and reports maintenance needs.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Develops work schedules and ensures timely completion of work.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
