Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a crew responsible for servicing and preventive maintenance on equipment. The role involves scheduling, reporting, and ensuring safety protocols are followed across indoor and outdoor work environments. Qualification includes a high school diploma or GED, 4 years of maintenance experience with at least 1 year in a foreman/lead role, and a Texas driver's license.

Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (recognized by TEA or regional accrediting body).
• Four (4) years of maintenance experience including at least one (1) year as foreman or crew leader.
• Must possess the Texas driver’s license plus any endorsements as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, schedules, and may participate in activities of skilled and semi-skilled workers for maintenance, repair, and installation functions.
• Maintains records and prepares progress reports.
• Maintains inventory of parts and equipment; orders parts and equipment as necessary.
• Performs inspection of equipment, structures, and systems for proper operation.
• Provides protective safety equipment and ensures it is safe and operational; checks work site for safety hazards and reports to supervisor.
• May supervise grounds maintenance and landscape functions.
• Provides daily verbal and written reports of work needed, accomplished, or in progress.
• Ensures all equipment is operating in a safe working condition.
• Inspects work in progress and upon completion to evaluate performance per instructions.
• Communicates with assigned crew and may perform movements of various physical activities to operate equipment.
• Performs related duties as required.
