Job summary

The City of San Antonio is seeking an experienced supervisor to direct field crews in street maintenance, drainage and sidewalk work, and traffic sign installation and maintenance. You will oversee daily operations, enforce safety and quality standards, and manage equipment, inventory, and coordination with utilities and City agencies.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of crew lead or supervisory experience in field construction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (TEA-recognized) required.
• Three (3) years of experience as a crew lead or supervisor in field construction and maintenance.
• Must have valid Texas Driver's License (Class C).
• Within six months, must obtain Texas Commercial Class B Driver's License with endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of field staff engaged in street maintenance or repair, drainage and sidewalk construction, street cleaning, markings, installation and/or maintenance of traffic signs, river and ditch maintenance, and/or vegetation management.
• Ensures compliance and timeliness of work with service level agreements, specifications, ordinances, safety procedures, and operating procedures.
• Performs inspections on equipment and materials to ensure safe operation; lift and carry loads.
• Maintains inventory and initiates requisitions for stock and parts; coordinates with utility companies and city agencies.
• Responds to residents and Council Offices; prepares reports and schedules; delivers training as needed (safety, specs, quality).
• Performs safety investigations and completes documentation; conducts meetings and participates in other duties as required.
