Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Traffic/Transportation Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Raleigh, NC office. You will work with traffic engineers to collect and analyze data for NC Department of Transportation reports and presentations, and assist with drafting technical materials.

Field data collection and basic coding/script development to analyze data are part of the role. 60 credit hours toward civil engineering are expected, with ABET-accredited program involvement.

Qualifications

• 60 credit hours toward Civil Engineering degree required by start of internship.
• No experience required for candidates in Associate’s or Bachelor's degree programs.
• Basic computer skills for data entry into spreadsheets/databases.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with traffic engineers to compile and analyze data for reports/presentations to NC Department of Transportation staff.
• Conduct field data collection of traffic data.
• Assist drafting technical reports/presentations based on data analysis for data-driven decisions by NC DOT.
• Assist with writing code, scripts, or algorithms to analyze raw data for reports/graphics.
