Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Traffic Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Wilmington, DE. You will work with a large team of traffic engineers on diverse projects across the mid-Atlantic region, gaining hands-on experience in design, forecasting, and analysis.

Interns will contribute to field data collection, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, ITS, signaling, and corridor planning while developing practical skills in traffic operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree with an interest in transportation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support design, forecasting, and analysis tasks in traffic engineering.
• Assist with design and operation of ITS and traffic control devices.
• Contribute to field data collection and office projects across mid-Atlantic region.
