Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Transportation Planning Intern for our Atlanta, GA office. You will assist with traffic forecasting, create maps and reports, and participate in site assessments under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil Engineering or related degrees with ABET accreditation; 90 hours completed by Summer 2027. Experience reading maps and basic traffic analysis is a plus.

Qualifications

• No experience is required if accepted into an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• Must have completed 90 hours toward Civil Engineering, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, or related ABET-accredited degree by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Applicant should have experience reading a map and/or construction plans; traffic operational analysis is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic forecasting, operations, and crash assessments under supervision.
• Create graphics, maps, spreadsheets, databases, or tables to support technical report preparation.
• Participate in project site assessment activities, field work, site assessment, and data processing.
• Utilize software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ArcPro GIS, SYNCHRO, organize files, and contribute to technical report production.
• Assist with public engagement activities and create informative materials.
