Job summary

Ace Hardware Corporation in Fredericksburg, PA, is seeking a Traffic Supervisor to oversee hourly traffic staff, manage dispatches, deliveries, and administration at our brand-new distribution center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics/transportation or related emphasis preferred.
• Previous demonstrated leadership in a supervisory role in the transportation industry.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DOT files and records on all drivers.
• Process and maintain drivers' payroll files.
• Audit daily logs and on-time deliveries.
• Positive daily communication with customers.
• Responsible for after-hours communications with drivers.
• Maintain positive driver and staff employee relations.
• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation and operations goals.
• Confer with customers, supervisors, managers, or other personnel to exchange information to resolve problems.
• Dispatch personnel and vehicles in response to reports of emergencies.
• Assist in the planning of transportation routes.
• Responsible for the safety of the department and security of people and resources, accident investigations and loss prevention.
• Flexible to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours.
