Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or able to obtain within a few months.
  • Traffic engineering experience and/or planning, analysis, and studies experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Safety planning experience and knowledge of engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project quality assurance and project team support.
  • Support the technical organization and business development.
  • Participate in traffic studies related to strategic and growth initiatives.
  • Assist with major project pursuits, new business development, and local client relationships.
  • Support CSMs with client outreach where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Lead traffic studies.
  • Draft and review scopes and fees for new projects.
  • Serve as traffic studies lead on key department projects.
  • Recommend operating policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Support Traffic Department Manager(s) and Traffic and ITS Group Manager with operational needs.
  • Perform other functions delegated by the Traffic and ITS Engineering Group Manager and/or Transportation Market Leader

Requirements

  • Great written and oral communication skills
  • Safety Planning experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of FHWA Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
  • Knowledge of Florida Design Manual (FDM)
  • Knowledge of FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM)
