Job summary

The City of Las Vegas is seeking a Signing and Marking Technician in the Department of Public Works. This role installs and maintains traffic control indicators using paint, tape, and raised pavement markers, and sets up safe work zones in traffic areas as needed.

Under supervision, responsibilities include field operations, record keeping, and procurement coordination. Candidates must meet licensing and certification requirements as outlined, including future certifications within specified

Qualifications

• Two years experience in maintenance, construction, or a field related to the essential functions.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license at time of application and maintenance thereafter.
• Flagman certification from the Nevada Department of Transportation and forklift certificate within 1 year; Class B CDL and Signs and Markings Specialist Level I within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Measures and marks off streets, parking stalls and lanes for painting.
• Operates paint striping equipment, including airless spray and hot plastic equipment.
• Installs, replaces, repairs, and maintains street signs and other public signs; bores holes for signs and posts.
