Job summary

City of Laredo is seeking a maintenance-focused worker to ensure street markings and curb lines remain clearly visible in compliance with Texas standards. The role involves operating motorized and portable striping machines, calibrating equipment, and assisting in the fabrication of traffic signs.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma or GED and at least three years of experience with pavement markings and traffic sign installation, plus a valid Texas driver license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least three (3) years of experience in installation and maintenance of traffic signs, pavement markings, and operating large striping machines.
• Valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mark lane stripes, curbs, street markings, and school crosswalks annually using striping equipment.
• Supervise and plan new street pavement markings per codes and plans.
• Calibrate and maintain striping equipment and guns.
• Assist in signs fabrication and post installation with concrete and metal work.
• Maintain communication with staff and public; follow safety policies.
