Job summary

City of Bryan is seeking a semi-skilled worker to design, construct, install, maintain, and repair traffic signs and pavement markings across the city. The role involves fabricating signs, setting up work zones, inspecting sign compliance, and maintaining records of installations.

Responsibilities include operating sign-painting and marking equipment, handling equipment maintenance, and responding to emergency calls on a rotating on-call basis.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and plans.
• Must follow TMUTCD regulations and standards.
• Willingness to perform moderate to heavy outdoor labor in temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates and installs signs, posts, delineators, barricades, cones, and pavement markings.
• Inspects signs for compliance, including placement and visibility.
• Loads/unloads materials and equipment for sign installation and repair.
• Sets up traffic work zones with barricades and warning signs.
• Keeps records of sign installations and locations.
• Operates marking and sign-painting equipment as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and on-call situations as required.
