Job summary

City of Twin Falls in Idaho is seeking a Traffic Technician to maintain and improve our traffic signal and transportation systems across the community.

You’ll troubleshoot electrical and computerized traffic equipment, analyze conditions, and help design safety improvements while working with city crews, contractors, and the public. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow toward Journeyman Electrician licensure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, monitor, maintain, update, and repair City traffic signal systems
• Work with traffic control panels, beacons, emergency preemption systems, video, radar, and other detection equipment
• Program and adjust traffic signal timing
• Maintain school beacons and speed-reduction systems
• Assist with street design and traffic control plans
• Conduct traffic counts and speed studies
• Analyze traffic data and propose improvements
• Coordinate with contractors and agencies on traffic issues
