Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks motivated Electrical Engineering Interns to assist in traffic signal and street lighting projects. You will prepare designs using AutoCAD, evaluate contract documents and plans, and conduct field visits to ensure compliance with IESNA and the National Electrical Code.

You will coordinate with design consultants and review utility requests while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed in minimum qualifications.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Knowledge of illuminating society standards and national Electrical Code and NYC rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and plans using AutoCAD.
• Conduct field visits and lighting and traffic survey projects.
• Review and approve shop drawings and catalog cuts for construction.
• Coordinate with design consultants and review utility requests.
• Maintain records of drawings, plans, maps, surveys, and inspections data.
