Job summary

City of New York is seeking motivated Electrical Engineering Interns to assist in research, design, and field surveys for traffic signals and street lighting projects. You will prepare designs with AutoCAD, review contract documents, and ensure compliance with city standards and electrical codes.

Candidates will coordinate with design consultants, review shop drawings, and maintain records of drawings, plans, and inspections.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering from an accredited college.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in electrical or electronic engineering technology and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in electrical engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design consultants and review submitted plans for development/modification of new and/or existing signalized intersections and street lighting work.
• Coordinate electrical service, relocation, and other requests for utilities.
• Advise and make recommendations to other city and state agencies regarding traffic signal and street lighting projects.
• Review and approve shop drawings and catalogue cuts for construction.
• Maintain records of drawings, plans, maps, surveys, and inspections data.
