Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in a field closely related to these duties.
  • Must obtain Flagging Certification within three months of hire.
  • Must obtain Forklift Certification within three months of hire.
  • Must obtain IMSA certification within one year of hire.
  • Must obtain Heavy Equipment certification within six months of hire.
  • Valid Utah Driver's License at hire; must obtain Utah license within six months to operate county vehicle.
  • Must have Class B CDL at hire or obtain within 30 days to operate a Salt Lake County vehicle.
  • Must have UDOT Medical Card at hire.
  • Must pass mandatory drug test before starting; subject to random testing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs semi-skilled and skilled electrical and street lighting installation and maintenance.
  • Assists with highway maintenance and snow removal.
  • Set up and perform traffic control as needed.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and report problems.
  • Respond to public inquiries professionally.
