Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking an on-site Electrical/Highway Maintenance Technician to perform street light installation, electrical maintenance, and snow removal duties. The role requires operating heavy equipment, handling traffic control, and ensuring safety compliance across a range of tasks within Public Works.

Applicants must have two years of related experience, obtain multiple certifications within specified timeframes, and hold or obtain a Utah CDL and DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• Two years of related field experience.
• Flagging, Forklift, IMSA, and Heavy Equipment certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Must possess a valid Utah Class B CDL or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Must have a Utah DOT Medical Card and pass drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled and skilled electrical and street light installation and maintenance.
• Assist with highway maintenance and snow removal.
• Set up and perform traffic control.
• Operate a variety of light and heavy equipment and tools.
• Maintain tools and equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Follow safety policies and report issues promptly.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and professionally.
