Job summary

Shrewsberry & Associates LLC seeks a Project Engineer – Traffic Engineering to support traffic studies, forecasting, and design tasks on transportation projects. This role develops technical problem-solving and leadership skills, guiding you toward a future leadership position in traffic engineering.

The position includes data collection, capacity analysis, plan development with AutoCAD and MicroStation, and collaboration with clients, contractors, and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a traffic emphasis.
• Engineer-in-Training certification encouraged.
• Ability to learn INDOT design manuals and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients to determine project needs.
• Complete on-site investigation of roadway assets and develop recommendations for improvements.
• Develop traffic forecasting volume exhibits, capacity analysis models, crash data assessments, and written reports.
• Develop plans for traffic design projects using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Assist in the preparation of specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Complete quality control reviews of traffic studies, construction plans, design calculations, and other contract documents.
• Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to discuss studies, plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
