Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking a Traffic Project Engineer II to join our West Palm Beach, FL office. You will support transportation engineering and TSM&O initiatives for FDOT and local agencies across Florida, focusing on mobility, safety, and performance through data-driven analyses.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop expertise in traffic operations, signal timing, and emerging mobility technologies on high-profile arterial projects and smart work zone deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Master's degree is preferred for advanced responsibilities.
• 2–4 years of Traffic Engineering experience, preferably on FDOT projects.
• EIT certification is required.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and ADA regulations is expected.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and analyze traffic volumes, travel times, and signal data.
• Support traffic signal timing and corridor operations analyses.
• Assist with TSM&O and ITS projects, including dashboards and performance monitoring.
• Contribute to Smart Work Zone planning, deployment, and evaluation.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and presentations for agencies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and FDOT/local agencies.
• Analyze safety, mobility, speed management, and multimodal operations.
• Read plan sets focusing on TTCP and signing/pavement markings.
