Job summary

PRIME AE Group in West Palm Beach, FL, seeks a Traffic Engineer III to support transportation engineering and TSM&O initiatives for FDOT and local agencies across Florida. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, signal timing, mobility analyses, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will develop performance measures, contribute to traffic studies, and help implement improvements using advanced analysis tools and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE certification preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in traffic/ transportation engineering.
• Experience supporting FDOT projects and familiarity with FDOT standards is preferred.
• Experience with traffic software: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, VISSIM, CORSIM, SIDRA, etc.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of data analytics, performance measures, and traffic operations studies.
• Strong communication and technical report writing skills; presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation data including volumes, travel times, signals, crashes and performance metrics.
• Support signal timing evaluations, corridor operations, and arterial management initiatives.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance TSM&O dashboards and reports.
• Perform traffic engineering analyses related to safety, mobility and operations.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, and presentation materials.
• Conduct traffic studies, intersection evaluations and performance reviews.
• Analyze pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and vehicular data to support planning.
• Utilize traffic analysis software to evaluate improvements.
• Support design and evaluation of traffic control devices and plans.
• Collaborate with FDOT staff, local agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
