Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Traffic Planning Discipline for Summer 2027 in our Westchester, NY office. As an intern, you’ll work alongside engineers, tackle meaningful projects, and develop skills in transportation infrastructure planning and delivery.

You will assist with day-to-day design tasks, traffic analysis, and reporting while gaining hands-on experience on roadway and transportation improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related program at an ABET-accredited University.
• Prior coursework in Traffic Planning, Traffic Design or Transportation preferred.
• Must be able to access the Westchester, NY office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical staff with day-to-day design tasks for various transportation and traffic projects.
• Conduct traffic analysis including data collection, crash analysis, and capacity analysis using software under supervision.
• Prepare traffic impact studies and traffic reports as assigned by the management team.
• Perform CAD work for conceptual design plans from traffic planning and preliminary design.
• Contribute to cost estimating for detailed design plans.
• Collaborate with other interns to understand multiple disciplines and Colliers Engineering & Design processes.
• Participate in planning and technical report documentation.
• Engage in internship programming and networking opportunities.
