Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated TSMO & Traffic Management Center Technician to support Transportation Systems Management & Operations, TIM, ITS, and TMC operations across Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

The role focuses on hands-on traffic operations, incident management, TIM training, and deployment of transportation technologies, collaborating with engineers, public safety agencies, and clients to improve safety, mobility, and performance.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Civil, Transportation, Engineering Technology, Emergency Management, Public Safety, Computer Technology, or related discipline.
4 years of related experience in Traffic Management Center operations, TIM, ITS, or TSOM responsibilities.
Experience coordinating with transportation agencies and public safety organizations.
Experience utilizing transportation technologies and operational software systems.

Responsibilities

Manage and/or assist in the management of Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations.
Monitor roadway conditions, incidents, weather impacts and traffic operations using ITS technologies and TMC systems.
Coordinate incident response activities with transportation agencies, law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and towing partners.
Assist with incident detection, verification, response coordination, lane closure management and traveler information dissemination.
Support development and maintenance of TMC SOPs, operational plans and response protocols.
Assist with performance monitoring, reporting and evaluation of operations activities.
Support 24/7 operational environments as required.
Assist in TIM training program development and delivery.
Serve as instructor or co-instructor for TIM and responder safety courses.
