AECOM is seeking a Senior ITS/Traffic Manager to lead projects across Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The role focuses on ITS, TMC operations, and transportation technology deployments, coordinating with state DOTs and local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8 years of progressive experience in ITS, traffic operations, TMC operations, transportation technology, transportation systems integration, traffic signal systems, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with state DOTs, local governments, transportation agencies, and operational stakeholders.
• Experience and proficiency in transportation technologies, communications systems, operational software platforms, and ITS infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage ITS, TSMO, TMC, traffic operations, and transportation technology projects from planning through implementation and closeout.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and staffing assignments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, transportation operations specialists, technicians, software/integration specialists, and subconsultants.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
• Support proposal development, client pursuits, project interviews, and business development activities.
• Manage projects involving ITS infrastructure, transportation networks, traffic signal systems, and transportation technology platforms.
• Support deployment and integration of CCTV cameras, DMS, traffic detection systems, traveler information systems, connected devices, ITS infrastructure.
• Oversee field investigations, system testing, technology deployment activities, and operational acceptance of transportation systems.
• Manage transportation technology initiatives involving data integration, system interoperability, asset management, performance monitoring, and reporting.
• Support implementation of emerging transportation technologies, cloud-based applications, operational analytics, and connected transportation systems.
• Manage and support Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations, TSMO programs, and regional traffic operations.
• Assist clients with transportation operations assessments, operational improvements, TMC procedures, performance reporting, and planning initiatives.
• Support development of operational workflows, SOPs, asset management systems, and reporting processes.
• Coordinate with transportation agencies, law enforcement, emergency management, and other stakeholders.
• Support transportation operations during events, incidents, severe weather, and other situations.
• Manage signal operations, corridor management, timing implementation, and performance evaluation.
• Support corridor/intersection performance reviews using ATSPM and analytics.
• Coordinate with agencies to identify operational improvements.
• Support maintenance and modernization of ITS infrastructure.
• Lead client meetings, workshops, and stakeholder coordination.
• Lead ITS engineers, traffic engineers, and project staff; provide technical oversight and quality review.
• Support staff development, staffing, and resource planning.
• Foster collaboration across transportation operations and engineering teams.
