County of Santa Clara seeks a supervisor to oversee the Traffic Operations Center and the installation, operation, maintenance, and modification of traffic signal systems and related electrical/electronic components.

The role involves coordinating staff, planning and reviewing daily work, and ensuring safe operation of signals. Travel to alternate locations may be required; a California driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years of experience in electrical/electronic field with traffic signals.
• Two years of lead or supervisory experience comparable to Senior Electrical/Electronic Technician.
• Completion of an approved four-year electrical apprenticeship may substitute for two years of required work experience, but cannot substitute for lead/supervisory experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervises the Traffic Operations Center, including installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and modification of traffic signal systems, lighting and electrical/electronic systems.
• Plans, assigns, trains, supervises, counsels, and reviews the daily work of traffic signal staff.
• Interviews and selects or recommends selection of new staff.
• Coordinates and oversees emergency repairs and other electrical work as needed.
• Operates and maintains the Traffic Operations Center and monitors Traffic Management System alarms.
• Develops and maintains a schedule for preventive maintenance programs, and oversees and provides assistance to perform scheduled maintenance.
• Reviews design plans and specifications and makes recommendations concerning constructability, installation, and modifications of proposed traffic signal or lighting systems, and coordinates with engineering staff.
• Assists with budget preparations.
• Serves as liaison with other County operations and outside agencies relative to the work and responsibilities of the Traffic Operations Center.
