Whitaker Construction is seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Supervisor to ensure safe and efficient vehicle movement around work zones. You will oversee the placement of signs, cones, and barriers, and supervise a team of flaggers and drivers to uphold standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with crews and emergency services, complying with MUTCD guidelines, maintaining records, and adapting traffic plans to changing conditions.

Qualifications

  • Traffic Control Supervisor certification required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Focus to work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment and underground utilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from work.

  • Responding to incidents: Handling traffic incidents and emergencies, such as accidents or breakdowns, by coordinating with emergency services and law enforcement.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintaining records of traffic control operations and preparing reports.

A Traffic Control Supervisor's job is to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic, particularly in construction zones and other areas where traffic is temporarily disrupted. Physical Requirements:
  • Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.
  • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time without scheduled breaks.
  • Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
