Job summary

AECOM is seeking Traffic Monitoring Dispatcher(s) based in Orlando for the Florida Turnpike Enterprise. The starting pay will be $19.10 hr.

The Traffic Monitoring Dispatcher position involves working with multiple software platforms and web-based applications to monitor state roads, dispatch personnel, and coordinate with FDOT and partner agencies. The TMC in Orlando operates 24/7/365, providing incident management, dispatch, and traveler information services for Florida’s roadways.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position while monitoring ITS equipment.
• Ability to operate software platforms and web-based applications.
• Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Use software platforms to monitor ITS devices along freeways (CCTV, ramp meters, signage).
• Monitor camera video and event data for incidents affecting traffic flow and safety.
• Log events and closures related to construction or maintenance.
• Dispatch Road Ranger Safety Service Patrol Operators.
• Provide clear directions and coordinate with FDOT and partner agencies.
• Monitor weather and update motorists and agencies as needed.
• Update information on fl511.com and other traveler information channels.
• Document activity and communication clearly in records.
