GFT in Chipley, FL, is seeking a part-time Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operator to join our team on-site. You will monitor live traffic, coordinate with DOT, and dispatch crews to maintain roadway conditions. The role requires strong communication, multitasking ability, and flexibility for varied schedules.

Prior dispatch or traffic-systems experience is preferred. Compensation is hourly with benefits for qualified roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Preferred: Dispatching, traffic systems, or fast-paced monitoring experience.
• Ability to multitask and stay sharp under pressure.
• Flexibility for varied schedules and on-call needs.
• Preferred: Familiarity with local DOT roadways or public safety/transportation background.

Responsabilités

• Monitor roadway conditions using CCTV, traffic data, and apps like Waze and Google Traffic.
• Detect incidents quickly and coordinate response with DOT, law enforcement, and field crews.
• Dispatch maintenance teams for urgent and routine roadway needs.
• Update road signs and traveler information in real time.
• Verify traveler information across DOT platforms.
• Track closures, hotspots, work zones, and equipment issues.
