Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Traffic/ITS Engineer in Dallas to lead transportation planning and traffic engineering studies for state and local agencies.

The role involves managing scopes, budgets, and schedules, and preparing PS&E documents for ITS infrastructure, fiber optics, power systems, and traffic signals. Ideal candidates will have a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Civil/Transportation Engineering and 3–5 years of traffic engineering experience, with TxDOT project exposure and proficiency in Excel,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering with 3 years' experience or Bachelor's with 5 years' experience in traffic engineering.
• Experience with TxDOT projects and traffic safety analysis; data analysis in Excel and Python; proficiency with HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, TransCAD, OpenRoads, MicroStation, and ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation planning and traffic engineering projects as PM or task lead.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for Traffic and ITS projects.
• Develop PS&E documents for ITS infrastructure, fiber optics, signals, and illumination.
• Create traffic studies and master plans including TSMO and ITS plans.
• Coordinate with subconsultants and multiple managers to keep projects on schedule.
