Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Traffic Specialist to support logistics of materials and equipment in Calera, AL on a contract basis. The role requires critical decision making on transportation modes, knowledge of DOT rules, and coordination with carriers to ensure timely deliveries and outages support.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma (Bachelor’s preferred) and experience across LTL, Truckload, Parcel, and air shipments, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in transportation services field.
• Experience in LTL, Truck Load, Parcel, Hotshot, Dedicated & Air transports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal customers with transportation needs.
• Resolve logistical issues and provide solutions.
• Build relationships with carriers, suppliers and internal customers.
• Maintain knowledge of DOT rules and CFR 49 standards.
• Ensure timely deliveries in routine and emergency situations.
• Review freight invoices for accuracy and negotiate contracts.
